Day 10 of the Twelve Treasures of Christmas Giveaway!
This time, I did not take a photo with my iPhone - impressive! I did take an existing photo and jazzed it up with icons in Photoshop, its the effort right? In my defense, I had the honor of being a guest in my daughters Kindergarten classroom yesterday for Visitor Day. We enjoyed making mini Gingerbread houses, reading stories and apparently, sharing germs. I woke up this morning with that omnipresent childhood friend - Pink Eye! I am thrilled that my kids do not have it, but man, what a pain! Now that I have grossed everyone out, here is what I have up for today's giveaway, behold - Innocent Crush!
The giveaway today consists of SEVEN Fat Quarters of Innocent Crush by Anna Maria Horner. You will be getting one of each print marked with the bright green unicorn (don't worry, that's not on the fabric).

On the Ninth Day of Christmas...
... My super cool friend Melissa gave to me... A Renee Nanneman Rose Maison tote bag, a CD of Andovers Fall prints and a hot pink retractable measuring tape!
It might not seem like much, but don't let the lack of flashy photography fool you. My sister Amy had to tackle glassy eyed quilt shop owners to get her hands on this hot bag! She endured scores of dirty looks and jealous glances to bring this bag to me to give to you in all it's cool cottony goodness!

The Twelve Treasures Of Christmas
I have some fun things to giveaway. Make sure you stop by the Facebook page and comment to win some fun items!
New in the shop - Gift Certificates!
I have $25.00 and $50.00 listed but can create Gift Certificates in any denomination. Just send me a message to have that listed for you.
In other news, I have also started moving listings over to ArtFire. The fees on etsy are mind boggling. I am still plugging away at the dedicated website, too. I am a huge fan of etsy, but if you sell more than a 100 things a month, the fees will eat you alive. Everything I sell on etsy can be purchased on ArtFire and I believe that you do not need a profile in ArtFire. Just shop and pay.

A Roundup of My Favorite Tutorials
I am loving all the tutorials lately. I read them more than I create. I need to stop looking! Here are some of my favorites!
Pockets have always made me a little nervous, but ikatbag has posted a series on pockets that has me cheering! Look at this lovely pocket:
From The PolkaDot Chair, look at this gorgeousness for the Holidays!
Here is the tutorial link.
This is also from the Polka Dot Chair and I am making this tomorrow morning (don't tell my daughter!):
And the link is here for the Dolly Skirt How-To. There is even another tutorial for the matching Girls Skirt! So fabulous!
Need a quick gift? How about something made out of scraps, interfacing and a zipper!
Step by Step instructions are here at cut out and keep - a site chock full of tutorials and sharing, you might get lost over there for a few hours, be careful!

Late Night Blogging
And that title is not a euphemism for anything naughty!
I just wanted to post a little update on shop happenings, I have been so quiet lately and I am absolutely certain you have been thinking about what I have been up to, right? That's what I thought! I have been diligently plugging away at the new online shop and since I am not a graphic designer, it's going a lot slower than I hoped. Still aiming for a January 1 roll out though! I have ordered a clone to help with the workload but she is on back order.
In the meantime, I have some exciting news to share. I will be having a year end clearance in the etsy storefront to reduce the amount of items I will need to transfer over and to assist in that, etsy now has the ability to accept COUPON CODES! Yes, I know I am yelling, it's just that fabulous!
To kick off this fabulously good news, we are having a Black Friday weekend sale. I will add a new blog post with the Code and instructions on how to redeem it with the etsy checkout system. I will also announce it in Facebook and Twitter and yell at random strangers about it. Since this post is missing some pretty pictures to jazz it up, I will leave you with this lovely cut paper art made by my little girl while I was cutting and packing orders last week:
I sense a future in textile design for her.... I love the little bee on the right!

Sunday Before Vacation! (Err, I mean completely business related trip)
I am about to leave town for a few days starting Wednesday and I am so jazzed about getting away that it really doesn't feel like work. I will be attending the Fall Quilt Market in Houston, Texas! Yee Haw! I am excited to see what is new and upcoming from all my favorite designers and fabric manufacturers. You can be certain that I will be updating my blog and Facebook page with photos and all the inside scoop I can gather. Please check back starting on Friday, Oct. 29th. Also, if you need to place an order from 10/27/10 through 11/1/10, those orders will not ship until 11/2/10.
I do want to share my next project that I found online that I would like to try. From Bandy Canyon, this adorable ribbon gathered skirt tutorial for your favorite little girl.
What have you been sewing? (or in my case, planning!)? Have a great week!

October Shop News
How can it possibly be October already? September flew right by me and now Ocober is half over. So busy trying to squeeze everything in, it has been hectic! I do have some exciting news to share, I have been working with a mentor on the next steps and a business plan. I have decided on my "vision" for what I would like in my shop. My goal is fresh, modern, colorful, bright and fun fabrics. In support of this vision, I will be moving out older, hard to find quilting prints. If you have something saved in favorites or something that you have had your eye on and you think it might be there for you for always, it might get snatched up quickly. Grab it now at a great price before it is gone!
In addition to cleaning up my fabric selection (and adding in new fabrics that support that vision), I am happy to announce that I will be opening my own www shop off etsy. Etsy has been a fabulous place, but the limitations and costs are preventing me from expanding. I will announce here on my blog, on Facebook and Twitter when the new shop is live. I am in the process of the design and moving all my listings. I should be up and running at www.treasurebayfabrics.com within 60 days!
Fall quilt market is just two weeks away - this is THE big trade show for the industry. This is where I go to find out what is new and upcoming from all my favorite fabric, pattern and notion vendors. It's in Houston, Texas this year and it will be my first time in Texas - yeehaw! I will be road tripping it Oprah and Gayle style with my sister. Should be HILLARIOUS I am certain! That trip will mean the shop will be closed from October 28th - November 2nd. Watch Facebook for all the latest info and inside scoop from Quilt Market!
More new prints in the shop tonight! Remix, Metro Cafe and a Holiday Cupcake print - fun!

New Modern Meadow by Joel Dewberry
I love getting new things in for the shop, even when they have been out for a while. New to me is still a so much fun! I have added eight more of the Modern Meadow prints from Joel Dewberry to the shop, bringing the total to an even dozen of this print now available. It does sell very quickly, so if you see something you like, now is the time to grab it!

Busy, Busy and Back to School
Hello Everyone! It has been a little chaotic wrapping up summer and getting the kids ready for school here. My son is challenged with Asperger's and ADD and I am doing my very best to not show my anxiety for the start of his Middle School Career. He is certainly not a "fan" of formal education. He would prefer attending a school based on a Lego curriculum taught by Jedi's or Transforming Robots. Today also marked the start of my daughters Kindergarten class. She was a little nervous, but came home and told me that it was "fun". I am positive she will enjoy being around kids her own age. I imagine it will be more fun than hanging out with me, picking orders and packaging fabric all day.
With the start of school and perhaps a moment to gather my thoughts in peace, I would love to hear what everyone is working on (or planning). I have requests for little zipper bags from Japanese print cottons and comfy knit dress and legging sets. What are you working on or planning?
Need some inspiration? Take a look at this amazingly adorable Hedgehog applique tutorial and pattern on the Izzy & Ivy Blog.
What a sweet little way to use up small fabric pieces. I think this would look spectacular in a fall colorway - oranges, reds and browns. Make a matching twirl skirt or ruffle pants - so cute! Plus, you can enter to win the Abbie Applique pattern book or share your Hedgehog project to win a copy of the Abbie pattern. Please see their blog for full details.

Tina Givens Opal Owl - New in the Shop!
I had the pleasure of meeting the delightful Tina Givens at the 2010 Spring Quilt Market. Her booth was spectacular!
I believe she had the most samples created from one line than anyone else at Quilt Market. Hats, clothing, pillows, bags - and more! Her new line is very whimsical and as you can see, it sews up beautifully! I am pleased to have it available in the shop, quantities are limited, get yours today!

Free Pattern Dowload - Oliver+S Love
This time its for your doll! The lovely Liesl at Oliver+S has created a sweet little dowloadable doll dress pattern to match the already free popover dress pattern available on their blog!
If you have not heard me mention my love of Oliver+S, let me mention it again - I love them! Their patterns are classic and so very well written. If you are a new sewist or haven't pressed your foot on the pedal for a while, their blog has several fantastic downloadable patterns for you to get sewing!
While you are there, you can check out the NEW patterns they are releasing for Fall. I am pondering my order as I type this. Check out the Music Box Jumper - I can absolutely see myself fully completing a project with this pattern. Perhaps even something for the upcoming Holidays? Love it!

Everything Old is New Again
One nostalgic item I was surprised to see at Spring Quilt Market? Pom pom trim! It was everywhere! Pillow and Maxfield by Michael Miller featured it on their samples. They used the trim on the bottom edge of directors chairs and on pillows.
Riley Blake had a while line of trims coming out including classic pom pom trim and mini pom pom trim. The featured trims on everything - clothing, quilts, pillows and even oven mitts!
I love how a trim can add a bit of whimsy to any project and I am pleased to announce that I have uploaded nine mini pom trims and two colors of the classic one inch size. (More to come!).
There are also two colors of the Super Jumbo Ric Rac added, Light Pink and Light Blue. Visit the shop and add some to your projects - have fun!
